Build A Profitable Opt In List

You've finally realized that you need a targeted opt-in list. You've read countless articles giving expert advice and also read many success stories of people creating a small fortune with opt-in lists so you finally decide to build one of your own. Then it happens, you build your list, all the time following the experts advice to the "tee" and you still can't make a profit.

In fact, you may be losing money. You might be hiring writers to help you with website content or articles or there might be some other expenses. Even if you have a big list, but only a very small percentage actually buys from you, you're still losing money. You’ll realize this after a few months when you see your statistics and sales figures.

So what could have gone wrong? Why have others succeeded where you have failed? The most common mistake is that you dived straight in. Just because you wrote to people on your list doesn’t mean they are going to buy instantly. You need to write to them the correct way.

For those of you who have started mailing your list and have failed, don't worry, help is here. For those who are starting, here are three quick and easy ways to build a profitable opt-in list.

1) Get your customers to trust you and your products first. Publish some articles first. Write about the topic you know and have started and used for your site. Help your subscribers with information.

Visit forums first to gain knowledge about your customers about their wants and needs and target those wants and needs. Post on these forums. Provide expert advice and recommendations. Put up a link to your site so they can see what your business is all about. When you feel that people trust you already, you will be able to start promoting products to your own opt-in list.

The certain truth is, sales will only happen when your subscribers believe and trust you. They want a product or service that is a good exchange for their money. People are not going to buy something from your recommendation if they don’t trust you.

2) Find a product or service that people want and need.

It's true that it is best to sell something that you have an interest in but it's not necessary. Do your research well and know what you're selling. Also provide your subscribers with promotional material that they could actually use and spread around.

3) Study successful marketers who have built large opt-in lists.

These are people who have been there and done it. Learn from them. Join their list and see what they do. You'll be able to discover what to do and what not to do from them because they have done it.

Building profitable opt-in lists don’t just happen overnight. Opt-in lists are built from scratch, and as your list grows, you should also maintain the quality of your list. Keep it organized and manageable. Get or hire help if need be, just make sure that your subscribers are happy and satisfied and they will be willing to buy from you.
